With Thanksgiving approaching, I'd love for you to think about something.
While the holidays can be a wonderful time for many, it can be an extremely tough time for others. There are those that may have lost family members and there may be those who cringe at the thought of heading to family gatherings as there is so much strife and you don't seem to fit in. Maybe you know someone who is just going through some tough times--challenges with health, job, etc.
Let's be intuitive to those around us, sensitive to their needs.
My challenge for you is to think of someone who may have a tough time during the holidays and reach out to that person. Send that person a note, an email, you never know what a word of encouragement might do!
During this time of Thanksgiving, let's show kindness and compassion to others. That's the best gift we can give Jesus.
And just so you know, you are loved and never alone. And if you don't have a place to go on Thanksgiving -- now you do.
We are having a Thanksgiving Day Dinner at St. John's from 1-4pm and you are invited.
1 John 4:11 "Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another."
