Santa and Presence.....
Christmas is coming and there is such a flurry of activity. Many of you might be rushing to the store to pick up those last minute gifts.
Here's an encouragement and reminder for this Christmas Season that I hope will bring you joy and peace and challenge you as well!
I remember as a little kid getting all excited for Santa to come. My Mom would always say, "Remember Santa is watching your behavior -- be good!"
I'm sure many of us heard that.
You know what is so cool though?
When it comes to Christmas and Jesus' birth and coming -- it's not based on our behavior. It's based on Grace. Grace is a gift we didn't earn or deserve. It's freely given when we accept Jesus because God our heavenly Father loves us so much. While we may mess up at times, God still loves us and loves us deeply.
Jesus is the greatest gift of all.
With the hustle and bustle of buying and wrapping presents, remember it's God's "presence" we look for. It's His presence that changes us and transforms us. It's His presence that can bring us peace, joy and comfort during those tough times.
And the greatest thing to remember --
There may be lots of presents under the tree, but Jesus' "presence" ON the tree -- is what has saved us and gives us new life. What a gift. What a present.
Take a moment today to stop and be still. Take a moment maybe to thank God for all He has done in your life.
And remember -- Jesus loves you. He is Immanuel which means God is with us!
Hope you will join us Christmas Eve on Sunday! We'd love to see you!
"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us)
